Techniques Training #2 – Flipping Out!

TT002 - Flipping Out! LongIn this week’s Techniques Training, we will be looking at a strategy called ‘Flipping Out!’; it actually means returning friendly minions back to your hand.

The wonders of ‘Flipping Out!’ is that it utilises cards that can return a friendly minion from the battlefield to the your hand, before you unleash the same minion back onto the battlefield for more benefits! Some cards that utilise this trick well are the Youthful Brewmaster, Kidnapper, and Shadowstep! It is generally more utilised by Rogues as these cards are either general or Rogue-exclusive.

Youthful Brewmaster

  • Type: Minion
  • Class: General
  • Cost: 2
  • Battlecry: Returns a friendly minion from the battlefield to your hand.

Kidnapper

  • Type: Minion
  • Class: Rogue
  • Cost: 6
  • Combo: Returns a minion to its owner’s hand.

Shadowstep

  • Type: Spell
  • Class: Rogue
  • Cost: 0
  • Spell: Returns a friendly minion to your hand. It costs (2) less.

When combined with minions with powerful battlecries, this technique totally shines as you can keep summoning them to unleash their powers. Examples are WindspeakerDefender of Argus, and Nightblade. You can also utilise the cards to heal minions that are injured from battle, making them as good as new! You can even send injured flipping minions back to have an immortal chain!
