Techniques Training #3 – No Pain, No Gain

TT003 - No Pain No Gain LongIn this week’s Techniques Training, we will be looking at how taking more damage is actually more beneficial to you!

By using minions with enrage abilities, and cards with self-damage capabilities (in return for more attack), you can easily produce a powerhouse army in your hands!

You will ask, won’t your minions just die immediately, even before unleashing their potential? That is where you, the Hero, comes in! By using weapons or cards that give you attacking powers, you act as the first line of offense by diving into the fray, paving the way for your minions to come into play!

Some of the possible minions that can be used in this strategy are:

Frothing Berserker

  • Type: Minion
  • Class: Warrior
  • Cost: 3
  • Stats: 2/4
  • Whenever a minion takes damage, gains +1 Attack

Cruel Taskmaster

  • Type: Minion
  • Class: Warrior
  • Cost: 2
  • Stats: 2/2
  • Battlecry: Deals 1 damage to a minion, and give it +2 Attack

Amani Berserker

  • Type: Minion
  • Class: General
  • Cost: 2
  • Stats: 2/3
  • Enrage: +3 Attack

The Warrior’s Hero Power (+2 Armor) helps him to sustain as he slashes through opponent minions, while he builds his own army of warmongers! The ‘Charge’ ability is highly-valued here, so the Warsong Commander is definitely a hot pick. Spells that help to clear minion waves are also appreciated, allowing the Warrior to slowly, but surely, dominate in the late game!
