Techniques Training #4 – Beasts Overwhelming (New)

Techniques Training LongThe latest patch of Hearthstone has changed how Unleash the Hounds work, so in this week’s ‘Techniques Training’, we will be covering the brand new ‘Beasts Overwhelming’!

It specialises in board control, turning the tide of battle, and transitions towards an aggressive stance from a defensive one in one turn!

Unleash the Hounds:

  • Type: Spell
  • Class: Hunter
  • Cost: 4
  • Ability: Summons one 1/1 Hound with Charge for each enemy minion on the battlefield

This card allows you to turn the tides while being in an unfavourable position; the Hounds will be able to exert board control by picking off opponent minions. It is best used when your enemy has a strong board control, in terms of minions’ numerical advantage, allowing you to spawn more Hounds onto the field.

Stack it with a Timber Wolf to allow your Hounds to deal even more damage, allowing opponent minions to be picked off more easily.

Timber Wolf:

  • Type: Minion
  • Class: Hunter
  • Cost: 1
  • Ability: Your other beasts have +1 Attack

Before you send off your Hounds to attack the opponent mercilessly, finish up the combination with a Frostwolf Warlord, for a total of a 10 crystals cost!

Frostwolf Warlord:

  • Type: Minion
  • Class: General
  • Cost: 5
  • Ability: Gains +1/+1 for each other friendly minion on the battlefield

With the Hounds and the Timber Wolf, your Frostwolf Warlord will be buffed so much  that it becomes an instant priority target! Opponents cannot do much as well as efficient trading ensures that your Hounds clear their priority minions as well. The only worry is probably any single target spell that can pick off your Frostwolf Warlord, but all is well, as the opponent will also have not much left on the field.

That will be it for this week’s ‘Techniques Training’; let us know in the comments below on what you think about this week’s technique, and any techniques that we should highlight in the future!
