Magic Decks #4 – Annoy the Opponent

MD004 - Annoy the Opponent LongIn this week’s ‘Magic Decks’, we will be building on what we continued yesterday; bursting your opponent’s hand size!

This deck was crafted by Kripparrian, and its aim was to troll your opponent by destroying his game-plan. At a closer look though, this deck is actually viable, as you are able to make a lot of plays with the cards at hand. Its origin came from Kripparrian looking for a use for the Coldlight Oracle; he found other cards that can also contribute to filling up the opponent’s hand, and voila!

Decklist

Rogue (19):

  • Backstab x2
  • Shadowstep x2
  • Cold Blood x2
  • Shiv x2
  • Eviscerate x2
  • Sap x2
  • Defias Ringleader x2
  • Master of Disguise x2
  • Vanish x2
  • Kidnapper x1

Neutral (11):

  • Lorewalker Cho
  • Novice Engineer x2
  • Youthful Brewmaster x2
  • Big Game Hunter x2
  • Coldlight Oracle x2
  • Leeroy Jenkins x1
  • Faceless Manipulator x1

Strategy

The plan is to make the opponent’s hand size full; when it is his turn, the drawn card will be destroyed. It is very strong, as the opponent’s cards will lose its synergy. You can also mess up more of his hand, by casting spells when Lorewalker Cho is on the field. This will put more of your cards into his hand, and what’s more, you can use the Faceless Manipulator to double the madness!

Looking for a great way to finish the game? A Leeroy Jenkins with Cold Blood, and a Faceless Manipulator will give the opponent an instant 20 damage!

Be warned, though. You have to play this deck strategically, as the opponents will have more avenues to counter-attack, due to the sheer number of cards in his hands.

Pros

  • Fun
  • Great at ruining the opponent’s game-plan

Cons

  • Opponent has greater choice of cards to counter-attack

Kripparrian called it the Counterfeit deck, and you can see it right in action here!
